A tree view shows parent-child relationships and lets users reveal nested items. It is appropriate when the hierarchy itself is useful, such as folders inside a project.

When to use it

Use for hierarchical resources that need exploration.

Know the difference

A content tree explores nested items; tree navigation uses that hierarchy primarily to move between destinations.
