What it is
A time picker may use a clock face, wheels, or formatted text. The intended time zone and 12- or 24-hour format can matter more than the visual picker style.
When to use it
Show an unambiguous time and explain the time zone when the task spans locations.
Know the difference
A duration is an elapsed amount of time; a time picker selects a clock time.
Across platforms
Web
Native input and select controls use browser-provided picker UI; the exact presentation differs across browsers and devices.
iOS · iPadOS
Pickers can appear inline, as wheels, or inside a compact presentation. Choose a style that fits the amount of space and the value being selected.
Android
Use the Android or Material selector appropriate to the value. Calendar and time selection commonly have dedicated dialog presentations.
