Upload progress.
Feedback about files being sent to a remote destination.
See it in context
What it is
Upload progress connects the operation to the actual file and shows the amount sent when it is measurable. Include cancellation or recovery when large transfers make it useful.
When to use it
Use while transferring files from the device.
Know the difference
Upload progress concerns data leaving the device; download progress concerns data arriving.
Across platforms
iOS · iPadOS · macOS · visionOS
Use the native platform presentation and terminology; adapt density and interaction to touch, pointer, remote, or spatial input rather than copying a phone-sized view.
Web · Android · Windows · Linux
On the web, announce meaningful status changes without moving focus. On Android and desktop, keep messages near the relevant operation and follow the platform’s notification conventions.
